Trashy Bay Ridge: ‘the couch trip’

No it’s not the Richard Martin building profiled by RIBR, but the corner of 84th and 3rd avenue where it looks like moving (eviction?) day as Christmas comes early for Sanitation Enforcement – not to mention ‘bargain hunters’ in search of a good deal on a slightly used set of furniture!

One passerby theorizing:”The supers probably just leave the sh*t out on the street thinking some f*cking dirtbag piece of sh*t hipsters ‘ill come and haul it away on top some ’87 VW they bought for $3.00 off craigslist”

decried drug house flips the script: “we’re not bothering anyone.”

So says the owner of the now infamous 93rd street address to the NY Daily News, calling the whirlwind campaign initiated by local pet store owner turned BayRidgeTalk activist Jason Miller – “rumors” and ‘harassment.’

In the first formal rebuttal from the 93rd street address by Joe Terrone, the owner of the property under siege has a different story to that of his neighbor Mr. Miller, saying: “they’re the ones being harassed.”

The owner dismissed the online BayRidgeTalk campaign as ‘cyberbluster,’ according to the Daily News who on a recent tour give the only known first hand account of the alleged ‘drug house’ from the inside where they observed “no outward signs of drug use…the few people there appeared affable,” an account that stands in stark contrast to that of Miller and other neighbors who call the house a “nuisance for years.”

CB10 and 68th precinct tread lightly when talking about any ongoing investigation regarding the house, retreating from stronger language previously reported to us by CB10.

In the end, residents looking for Michael Mann like theatrics may not want to hold their breath as the ‘drug house’ is apparently looking to make tracks, according to the owner who says the property will be up for sale, possibly making the only thing to bring down this house – a strong closer and pre-qualified buyer.

Bay Ridge illuminated: ‘your little lights aren’t twinkling, Clark.’

Nothing ushers in the Christmas season like the first glimmer of Bay Ridge’s elaborate holiday displays, such as that of Sam Malouf on the corner of Colonial and 81st.

While it’s too early to say if it’s the best, so far it’s the brightest.

Since last year, Sam has had a truly unique take on Christmas – with his signature combo of reindeer and palm trees. As Santa apparently upped and relocated his workshop from the North Pole to Wayne Newton’s pad (just kidding Wayne, rip).

update: NYPD mobilizes around Fort Hamilton stab

Teachers at Fort Hamilton High are watching their metaphors this morning, careful to nix ‘take a stab at it,’ in light of yesterday’s incident at the Shore Road high school.

Residents of tree-lined Colonial Road awoke to a large police mobilization this morning, no doubt in response to yesterday’s stabbing incident at Fort Hamilton High School. Most notably, two large Brooklyn South Mobile Command, an Ambulance, any number of School Safety cars/vans and blue and white patrol cars outside Russell Pederson Playground, the troubled handball/playground on the Colonial Rd. side of Fort Hamilton H.S.

According to a NY1, a witness reports seeing “the kid walking with blood on his white sweater, and the cops were following him. He had just gotten stabbed… the kid was smiling. He wasn’t even hurt.”
One resident saying:
“What’s the surprise here? The playground has always been a problem and gets worse every year, the cold weather doesn’t even keep them away anymore. During the day it’s the H.S. kids they take over the whole playground… I’m talking high school kids where toddlers should be playing and if it’s not that it’s the teenage kids from around here meeting up in the park at night, fighting, drinking, doing whatever someone would do in a dark playground at 1am… it’s a disgrace.”
