We’re getting reports of an early morning gang-style beating on 84th street and 5th avenue – at roughly 9:30am.
After all… why WOULDN’T there be an early morning gang attack on 5th avenue!

According to witnesses at the scene, an unknown number of assailants chased one victim into the street, while local shopkeepers and passersby watched in disbelief as the attackers punched and kicked him about the face and body – while at least one elderly man reportedly tried to fend off some of the victim’s attackers until police and EMS could arrive on scene.

Witnesses report at least one perp managed to flee, and that he may have had a knife.

While there’s no apparent motive for this morning’s assault, it does come on the heels of Saturday’s early morning beating/robbery outside Blue Zoo Lounge, just two blocks away from this morning’s attack, which left a 3rd avenue sidewalk caked in that victim’s blood well into the morning.

While the casual observer may simply write this off as some random anomaly, we’re just gonna call it for what it is… AUGUST!
