update: Blue Zoo still bloody? Bay Ridge just a bloody mess?
According to angry testimonials filling our inbox over yesterday’s blood soaked remains found on 3rd avenue – following an early morning robbery/beat-down at popular Guido haunt, Blue Zoo – residents are reporting that the bloodletting may not have ceased.
One tipster reports that the blood previously reported outside the Zoo was, in fact, cleaned – but more blood has apparently been spied on the 84th street side of the club, across from the Zoo’s side entrance. In front of the old Muse’s Cafe.
Fellow blogger Brooklyn Row House paints an unflattering portrait of a Bay Ridge – where the gentrification can’t seem to happen fast enough.
“There were a lot of idiots on the street last night. I left Casa Pepe around 10pm. My g/friend and I walked our respective dogs (a Newfie and two pit bull mixes). We were accosted on Ridge by a short, shirtless, drunk punk who got in my face with “you think yo’ dogs are gonna help you?”
This was probably an amateur attempt at an intimidation mugging so I called 911 and waited for five minutes to meet the cops but they never showed.”
It remains unclear whether this blood is directly related to yesterday’s beat-down robbery, or if the orange skinned patrons of the Bay Ridge club have just taken the fun a few feet away…
Whatever the case may be, the diagnosis isn’t good.
Let’s face it, the mayor of BelMar was dead on accurate with these people; the only difference is he forgot to cross the Bridge, where the number of orange skinned tough guys walking around with manicures, wearing woman’s sunglasses, would make his shit his Dockers.
Let’s face it, at least over the summer, Bay Ridge has ostensibly become the poor-man’s Belmar – predominantly attracting steroid infused Dyker Heights/Bensonhurst wanna-be meatheads, who’s greatest single achievement was selling their grandma’s house on 16th avenue to finance a Masseratti, so they can showboat in front of a crap corner bar.
And with the cops apparently on permanent vacation, what’s a Bay Ridgite to do? Move?
